Ireland is recognised as being the outstanding angling destination in Europe. The vast variety and quality of fishing in Ireland has given the country a reputation of which we are justly proud. With the abundance of coastline and inland waterways, Ireland is the perfect destination for all types of angling holidays. Trout and sea trout are native species with an honoured place in Irish culture, and Ireland's lakes and rivers have preserved their character in a landscape which has changed very little over the centuries. There are also many lakes in the River Fergus system around Corofin in Co. Clare producing excellent pike and coarse fishing - including an Irish record tench and specimen bream over 10lbs. Many of the lakes have boat facilities as well as shore fishing stands.
